Ace Defense Solutions now offers a fully flexible online Permit-to-Carry class for Minnesota residents, where you complete the required classroom instruction entirely online at your own pace through self-paced reading, PowerPoint slides, and accompanying audio/video lessons.
This covers Minnesota firearms carry laws, prohibited locations (such as schools, courthouses, and posted businesses), proper procedures for traffic stops and law-enforcement encounters while carrying, out-of-state permit recognition, and a strong emphasis on the authorized use of deadly force—including when the law permits firearm use in self-defense or defense of others—plus the serious legal and practical aftermath of a deadly force incident (securing the scene, calling 911, providing limited information to responders, preserving evidence, cooperating with investigators, and preparing for potential proceedings).
Once you've fully completed the online portion (including any required quizzes or modules to confirm understanding), you'll schedule a convenient in-person live-fire qualification session with us at the range. Under direct instructor supervision, you'll demonstrate safe muzzle discipline, proper firearm handling, loading/unloading, and accurate shooting at typical self-defense distances (usually 3–15 yards), with real-time coaching to meet the minimum proficiency standard required by Minnesota law.
Upon successfully completing both the online classroom training and the range qualification, you'll receive your signed training certificate, which meets all Minnesota BCA requirements and can be submitted with your Permit to Carry application to your local sheriff or issuing authority. This hybrid online + live-fire format allows you to prepare on your schedule while ensuring hands-on proficiency.
